Our Story

The Cove is West Covina’s oldest bar. We’ve been nestled in South Glendora Avenue proudly serving generations of liquor loves since 1953.

 Myself included, the bar has had only 3 owners over the span of 67 years in business. The Cove opens early to accommodate the schedules of whiskey and beer lovers from all kinds of careers. We’ve always been known as an “industry bar”—those who work in the bar & service industry are drawn to us—but most of our awesome regulars will jump at the chance to tell you we have something for everyone. A quick bottle of beer? A specific 20-year Kentucky bourbon? The best vodka to mix in a Lick My Chili to bring home Saturday night? We’ve got you. 

The Cove prides itself in hospitality and selection. We have some of the best staff in the industry, a few of us having over 10 years with the company, and the countless long term relationships we’ve formed from behind the bar make meeting new people a blast. The Cove always has and always will be an all inclusive bar with a  place for anyone and everyone. Our customers’ diversity mirrors the spirit of Southern California, so you know we’re second to none. At any given time, you’ll find drinkers of all age groups connecting, sharing stories, and cheersing. There’s a special security and acceptance about The Cove that compels our community to share their ups and downs of life with each other and with us. Hearing them say their parents—or even grandparents—used to sit at our bar is an amazing feeling. 

But our selection? Unbeatable. The Cove stocks rare, hard-to-find, and allocated spirits making us a hot spot for any spirit enthusiast. Our cocktail menus cycle throughout the year, so we do our best to enliven them with the fresh fruits of the season.
